Pittsburgh

Top Five things to do in Pittsburgh:

Five: Go find Mike Tomlin (former WMer) and realize even good people coach evil teams
Four: If g20 summit is in town, find some world leaders, throw shoes at them.
Three: Visit Point State Park
Two: Ride the Duquesne
One: See break through musician Josh Myers

Things I passed on: A walking tour of Pittsburgh, catching a game in the city, and really appreciating this revitalized city
Good places to stay: Comfort Inn Suites (very nice place).

Pittsburgh’s Ratings. On a scale from 1 to Boston: 4
Pittsburgh has a revitalized feeling, a distinct culture, and a quaint city feel.
Pittsburgh doesn’t have mountains, ocean, or a big draw.

The story: Pittsburgh in some ways got the shaft on my trip, because I only visited for about 14 hours, mostly during the night time. However, I think I got a feel for it and I wasn’t impressed. I landed and set out to see my friend Josh Myers get his jam on. It was awesome. We went to a little place out of the way called “Thursdays”, which had okay food. My friend Tricia was nice enough to cart me around and show me the sights. Mostly, my feeling about Pittsburgh, is it wasn’t a bad place to visit for fourteen hours, but if I had hit fifteen, I might have decided to rant about while it is “revitalized” that is sort of like repairing geocentric model instead of replacing it. It is still wrong. At least they have a nice airport, with free wifi, in fact- that might be one of their nicest attributes. To their credit, every person in Pittsburgh I spoke with was nothing but nice, and doesn’t deserve to see their city described so honestly.

Oh and you should donate. It is a good idea.
