Orlando’s Ratings. On a scale from 1 to Boston: 6.1

Orlando has a lot to do (aka spend your money on), weather, fun, the most magical place in the world, Mickey mouse, lake eola, and tourist traps galore.

Orlando doesn’t have much sincerity, cost efficient activities, mountains, and the like.

The story: Orlando is not getting the highest marks in my books. The entire city is a giant tourist trap, and reminds me of the eastern city of San Diego. Orlando has more to do, but is also more expensive. I did tell myself I’d give it a little credit for getting out of the super touristy area to Lake Eola in a different part of the city, and that was very nice. My time in Orlando started in the airport (one of the nicest airports I’ve been to, clean everything, shopping, wifi free, the works) pulling an all-nighter at the star bucks. I had a great time and met some awesome people. Then I rented my first car of the trip, because Orlando was going to be just too much to do it without a place to leave my luggage, and to spread to walk it all. Got a pretty decent deal on a car, and went to International drive (I drive). You could spend a whole day here, but don’t. Shopping galore, outdoors world (aka the biggest bass pro shop ever!), and a helicopter ride. Pretty sweet. Then I checked out the city walk, which is universal studio’s little area including island adventures, and another amusement park. Then I checked out downtown Disney, and walked around, they have some cool shops- including lego land and a toy store that is pretty sweet. Afterward, I headed to Millenia mall but didn’t stay… I’m not a big shopper, but if you are you’ll be in heaven (and debt). Finally, I went to my favorite area of Orlando, outside of tourist trap central, and enjoyed a stroll around Lake Eola. That place is cool. As far as I’m concerned, I never have to go back to Orlando, unless it is to see Marissa Sprick. On the upside I had a delicious meal at Perkins, and managed to not fall asleep at the wheel after my all nighter in the airport.
