Top Five things to do in Seattle
(I did a version of all these things):
Five: Pikes Place
Four: Space Needle
Three: See a local musician, or a music festival.
Two: Underground Tour
One: SFM and EMP (Science Fiction Museum and Experimental Music Project)
Good places to stay: Moore Hotel (on Virginia and Second), or Green Tortoise (at the fish market).
Things I passed on: A duck boat tour, a ferry, a Seattle sports game, and a free tea tasting.
Seattle’s Ratings. On a scale from 1 to Boston: 8.5
Seattle has culture, a sense of humor, an interesting history, sports teams galore, Griffey, plenty to do, and the water (great port city).
Seattle doesn’t have sunny weather (even when it is sunny, it is cloudy), warmth (temperature, not kindness), or a long enough history (still a young city).
The story: Greg arrives in Seattle, and after small kine drama (sorry about that to all involved) a friend picked me up and dropped me at a hotel.
From there I ask the people at the hotel, "Hey, what is going on in Seattle?"
I found out that there was a musical festival in town called BumperShoot, you may have heard of it. So, I decided "Why not?".
I went and saw the end of Franz Ferdinand, and then caught Modest Mouse. It was sweet. I walked around and handed out my bizcards to complete strangers all around the concert.
After a relaxing sleep, I got right to work enjoying Seattle powered by cookies from Kailua (courtesy of friends in Hawaii). I went straight to Pike Place and saw a guy toss a 12 pound Salmon 10 feet to his buddy.
The underground tour was fun, enlightening, and gave a nice overview of old Seattle. Then on to the stadium areas where I just walked over to see where Griffey plays, and where Hasselbeck tries to. From there I made my way across the city on a free bus, to a sculpture park (which might need some more sculptures) and the SFM and the EMP.
Operation Greg Sack Seattle is a go.
Oh, and donate to the charity.
